What is it?
I have been a visual artist for many years. However, there is a lot more to me than making pictures for people to look at. That is only one facet of my character.
In addition to visual art, I've always been keen on writing. Poetry, stories, essays, fables - I enjoy them all. But most of all, I enjoy sharing them with others.
Also a Philosopher, I don't find it wise to box myself into a neat package. As is the case with any conscious being, I am dynamic and much more complex than the simple labels one might attribute or assign me. My works, hobbies, interest, and titles cannot properly characterize who nor what I am.
My goals are myriad but I am adamantly dedicated to a few specifics. Those I shall neglect to mention, as they are rather personal. Though, of the many goals of mine, one is to teach others via pictures and words and I try my best to do so, despite that I have yet to be successful, according to mine own standards.
As for my visual art, I do not strive to create the most accurate realism features nor do I aim to construct masterpieces for people to view in museums; if my works are ever regarded as such, I will likely argue against the notion. This is because my visual art is founded upon communication. That latter is grounded in an understanding I've come to absorb, regarding art and poetics.
Of the several forms of communication, it struck me, many years ago, that art and poetics do what cannot be achieved in direct speech, alone. Nay, nor can simple experiences teach one nor reveal to one what art and poetics can, so simply and easily. It is because there are many things with which speech and experience are unfamiliar.
Sufficient it is to say that mine understanding dictates that art is sacred. It is second, only, to Truth. That is enough said.
The purpose of my being is to tell stories that are intended to help others learn and understand this experience. Those stories I tell through visual art and poetics, as well as direct Dialectic and Oratory.
